-FACTS-
Lombax body size always bothered me. As the guys at Insomniac say, the males are short and stocky while the females (Angela Cross) are taller and don't have a tail.

Now, Lombaxes originate from Fastoon, which is a desert or (was) tropical planet. Mammals in hot enviroments are usually tall and skinny with short fur, so they dont overheat (as an example, comparing a fennec with a polar fox). That is why I believe that it would be more correct if Lombax males and females were both the same size, i.e. tall. The males should even be taller, bigger, since the primal and only purpose of a male is to hunt and protect, while the females should be the smarter, more intelligent ones, since the purpose of a female is to raise and take care of the children.

Another thing that bothers me is the the tail. There is no way in evolution of mammals, that a male would have a tail, but not the female. It is a great difference, which caused many debates if Angela Cross is a Lombax or not. Both, males and females should be the same -> females should have a tail.

Working in the R&C universe from what I see:
Angela wasn't considered to be a Lombax during production of the 2nd game where she appeared; not Ratchet, Angela, or anyone else said she was; and it seemed that the game characters were confident that there wasn't anything interesting here; ratchet didn't see Angela and think "LOMBAX?!". The 1st time this was commented on I noticed was during "A Crack in Time" during the radio broadcast commented on her saying female Lombaxes don't have tail, and that she could be.

But here's the thing: this wasn't long after a huge part of the galaxy was freed from Emperor Tachyon (who HATED Lombaxes, no one can deny that). He held the galaxy's information records during his dictatorship so he could of started deleting the Lombaxes from digital existence, including details of their biology. So wherever those news reporters got their info, they could of simply been working of wild speculation where someone sees something that resembles a Lombax and says "So that's what females look like!" And as it might of come across as fact, it could of been the reporters' fault for telling it that way. And for the reason why supposedly Tachyon sent kill-squads after Angela at a time, I doubt he would want to leave anything to chance, and that there maybe is a Lombax here; he did attack an entire city to find Ratchet.

In my eyes, Angela isn't a Lombax; just someone who was mistaken for a Lombax by someone else and it was made fact where none existed. So in terms of what a female Lombax would look like, 'Babywarrior5' has a point; the tails wouldn't be different between the genders since it wouldn't affect them differently. The height: Ratchet's and Angela's heights are within reason (same as someone born to be noticeably short or tall in real life) but there's wouldn't be a major difference between the genders concerning height. Not only that, but Angela's ears, those small, sharp, and rigid ears are very different compared to known Lombaxes' long, soft, fluffy ears.

I reckon Insomniac noticed the "Is Angela a Lombax" issue then made a sudden decision for her to be a Lombax to fit the lore, but this doesn't make sense; it was a hasty disision and just wanted it out-of-the-way.
Sadly, while I love this game, Insomniac was pretty lazy when it comes to facts and information transferring between games and there's a lot of inconsistencies, not just the Lombaxes.

Example: remember that nerd from Bogon in the 2nd game who offers an Armour Magnet to Ratchet for a Quark action figure? He even asked Ratchet for a Quark item, using the words "from your Galaxy" the galaxy in question being Solana which was known to everyone. Then in "Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force", when he returned, the same nerd said he's from Solana too.
I'll say again: while I love the game series, the lore planning is not a highlights. But overall, while I'm aware I'm typing at length, we really shouldn't bother with more debates; just read fanfiction. :)
